I have a 92 mustang hatchback. Somebody told me if i position my subs just right form the hatch, that they will hit lower and louder. Is this true? and about how far from the hatch should i put them?

well typically the farther the bass frequencies have to travel before they reach you sounds better in most cases. I always like to point my subs back to have them bounce off the trunk and then back to me. I could mount them pointing towards me and actually put them right behind the rear seats but i'd have to seal off the rear seats to make sure there is no air leaks.

speaking of this, i drive a 3000GT hatchback. since i cant fit the subs in the hatch themselves, but no human people can fit in the small a$s back seats, im folding the back seats down, putting my box bolted down on the back seats firing back. that means they will sound better because they are going to be right behind me, going all the way back and then back to me, according to what you said above, correct?
