i have 2 mtx 6000's in a vented box but is seems like the sound would better with a sealed box. i have always used sealed boxes in the past and i like the sound better. it seems like i am losing power with the vented box. i just wanted to know which would be better or which will sound the best?

It may just be the vented box you have. vented boxes can sound pretty bad if there port is not tuned correctly and the box is too small to begin with.

personaly i like sealed, im with you, it does sound better, but like colby said it could be the box and the way its tuned and how big the box is. if i were you, i'd get a sealed box

i purchesed the box because it was a mtx bass slammer box so i assumed that it would be tuned right. i think i may go with the sealed box. how big of a box should i go with. i have a tahoe so space is not as issue.

get a slightly larger sealed box than required. If they subs require say 1.5cu ft per driver, give them 1.65cu ft per driver and give lots of power, i'd say 300RMS more than required. This gives good overhead and makes sure you give the sub some solid power.
