i got my 1 13w7 installed with a diamond audio 1200.1 pushing it, its in a ported box tunned to 34hz in a 99 suburban, now i think its wired to 3 ohms so its not getting the full power of the amp to it (1200 @ 1 ohm) but still its dissapoint me for a 13w7 it shuld be playing louder and hitting harder, ive been told it needs a better amp to it, i needs a different ported box thats huggge (the port on the thing is rediculous) and still other say my suburban has a crap load of air to push for that one sub...i mean were talking shaking the review mirror just a lil bit... ask me if u need me to post pics, ill get em

yeah definately post some pics but it looks like your sub is probably getting around 300-500rms cause its wired at 3ohms You need to get a better amp for it that will work for that sub.

definally need more power, at least 1000 watts. thats a massive woofer to move. the only 2 amps i know that'll work with the odd 3 ohm impedance is the JL 1000/1 of course, or the Phoenix Gold Xenon 1200.1.

but when i turn the volume up to high the sub stops playing, the amp still shows green and all and wen i look at the sub at loud volume on the head unit it seems like its ready to bottom out n makes that popping sound, im going to take pictures right now

your using bass boost. thats a common mistake. ive made it before. never use bass boost. just set your gains correctly. you WANT it to be loud but you didnt buy the right amp. dont take it out on the amp and sub, its your fault not theirs. you cant ask the amp to do soething it is not capable of. you need to just set the gains correclty, use NO bass boost. and wait until you can get a 1000/1 trust me its worth it i have one and i love it. i used bassboost on my ava once where i was pushing just a couple hundred watts rms and it was doing that popping sound. it WILL damage the woofer. so dont do it anymore. hopefully its not too late... but i would like to see pictures if ya dont mind.

get a stronger amp, and that s/b tunes to 30hz in a ported box.

not true daryl. my 1 15 ava in my escalade (which is basically like a suburban) made my mirrors shake like h3ll, my hair shake, and my door panels even shake.

so just the amp is the problem? and even with a 1000/1 how much of a difference is it going to make?

the 1000/1 will make a huge difference. with that amp you should hit anywhere fomr 135-145 with a 13w7. and even 135 is pretty damn loud. but you do know you'll need 2 1000/1s to run 2 13w7s right?

heh...you can power a W7 with a hifonics 1605D. Wire the sub to .7 ohms, it's what I did.. using my xenon 1200.1 now to power my six 12's.
