My budget is 500-1200, i don't want to give up to much room, just what is required. I want my system to have a nice "omph".

I went to a local electronics dealer in my town. The one guy was good, he suggested something cheaper i think he said something like a type s. Shoot he even said he whould give me a good deal, so i could go with a type s a custom box that will fit behind my seat. Now i want a system with a nice bit of omph. Nothing to bassy, now should i go with one 10" or two 10" ?? Should i go with ported or sealed. I listen to alot of rock and roll IE ac/dc queen guns and roses etc.

one 10" will probably serve your purpose. doesnt sound like your looking to set off any car alarms or get heads turning, just something to make the music sound how it should. if youve got the money, and the space, go for the 2 10" in a sealed enclosure. no need to go ported, just make sure the box is built to the subs reccomended specs. how much is he charging you? might be cheaper to purchase everything online then either install yourself or pay to have it done (its really pretty simple).

Make sure you get the dual 2ohm type-s if you get 2 subs and that amp, youll need them to wire down to a 2ohm load. Buying from ebay will cost ya $340 shipped..get the custom box made +wiring + install (or do it yourself) will keep you well under your budget. maybe you could put it towards a new HU if you dont have one? Goodluck

Thanks ryan but i think i might go with the local guy. I'm only 17 no credit cards parents don't have credit cards either. It's not until summer until i get this system. I want to have an idea, so i can go in there get the guys opinion then have some information backing me up so i can make a sound choice. I think he said something like 137-150 for a type s subwoofer, then he said he could give an alpine amp wich is 399 for 299, then for a deck a nice kenwood wich is almost 400 he whould give it to me for 300. These prices are guesses, i'm trying to remeber the price he said. So i'm going to go with a single 10" maybe two it all depends.
