How do you wire this?

ok lets say i have two subs that are both dvc 2.5ohm per coil, how would i wire that to a usable resistance? arent most amps .5,1,2,4 ohms?(exept JL) please explain

Hold on...Give us the sub name/model.

I've never heard of a 2.5 ohm VC.

Maybe it's TRUE impedance is 2.5 ohms, but in a realistic useable number it would be rounded up to 3ohms.

My AA Assassins are really 3.5 ohms, but are rounded up to 4 ohms when measuring how to wire them.

Hope that helps, but model and names of the subs helps a lot too if you can tell us.

Also, say, your amp is 1 ohm stable. If you wire those in parallel you'll get an impedance of ~1.25 ohms. That amp will be able to handle it but you'll get a just a little bit under then RMS value that the amp puts out at 1 ohm.

actually they are two older model re se's with custom VC's

you can hook them up as either a 1.25 ohm or a 2.5 ohm (series each subs voice coils then parallel each sub)

ya but what amp would you wire them like that to? 1.5=2 0hms? 2.5= 2 ohms? 5=4 ohms i have no idea
