ok lets say i have two subs that are both dvc 2.5ohm per coil, how would i wire that to a usable resistance? arent most amps .5,1,2,4 ohms?(exept JL) please explain
Maybe it's TRUE impedance is 2.5 ohms, but in a realistic useable number it would be rounded up to 3ohms.
My AA Assassins are really 3.5 ohms, but are rounded up to 4 ohms when measuring how to wire them.
Hope that helps, but model and names of the subs helps a lot too if you can tell us.
Also, say, your amp is 1 ohm stable. If you wire those in parallel you'll get an impedance of ~1.25 ohms. That amp will be able to handle it but you'll get a just a little bit under then RMS value that the amp puts out at 1 ohm.
