if u have a rockford fosgat T212D4 that has a peak handling of 2000 watts and 4 Ohms and a amps that puts out 1000 watts at 4 ohms or 3000 at 1 ohm. what the hell does all that mean and which one would put out more watts?

first off disregard all power numbers that are given as MAX power it is very misleading and can get you into trouble.. pay attention to RMS numbers only which is the true amount of power a subwoofer can take and the true amount of power an amplifier gives.. to your question im guessing you meant if you have a RF T212D4 which is the powerstage 2 with dual 4 ohm voice coils and you had an amplifier that gives 3000 watts at 1 ohm and 1000 at 4 ohms.. and lets say it will give out 2000 at 2 ohms.. the less resistants on the amp (ohm load) the power power it will deliver.. so if you wired the dual 4 ohm RF T2 to this amp in parrallel (pos - pos neg - neg) on the subwoofer and then to the amp this would present a 2 ohm load on the amplifier giving it 2000 watts.. since Coil 1 = 4 ohms and coil 2 = 4 ohms wiring in parralel will half the ohm load.. so its like having one 2 ohm voice coil..
