Help. Istalled New head unit, and it doesn't work!!

Help! My install didn't work on my 97 ford ranger.

I just installed my new head unit in my ranger, (took out factory), and install is done correctly, but there is no sound coming out of the speakers..it powers on fine. brand new receiver.... I need help!

if your 100% sure it right, check your wiring harness for any bent wires inside to be sure of a good connection, check all your wires to be sure, be sure your ground, black wire, is solid
then try to take it back if you can

does the HU have enough power to power your speakers or does it need an amp to power them?

try hooking up the blue wire (amp turnon)from radio to aftermarket harness that should be hooked to the factory harness.

I think I need to bypass the factory amp..... Any idea on which wire I need to have powered to power that and have it on?

It should be the blue wire on the aftermarket harness. All you need to do is hook it up so the amp turns on.
