hey can anyone help me out on changing my front door speakers from 5x7 to 6.5 i want to put in a good component set so the bass wont overide everything else if anyone can help me out with complete details it would be greatly appreciated. i drive a 1996 mustang gt by the way incase it will help thanks
i just did that yesterday... take the door pannel off
cut out a 7in hole in the door pannel where the speaker would be
take a peice of plywood and cut it like 6x8 or just so it covers the old speaker hole
but befor you attach that use the template that came with the speakers and trace it over the wood your useing and cut it out so your new speaker will fit in it..then attach the speaker in the hole....attach the wires...then attach the wood to the door frame...put the door panel back on and you should be good....if it rattles take screws with washers and just drill them into the door in those areas...then to finish it off recover it with new fabric hope this helps...
