how tall, wide and deep can the box be? (bottom and top depth)

its is going to be hard, if not impossible to get a large enough box for that SX15 to fit behing your seat.

you are going to want AT LEAST 3cuft (net)...so before displacements the box will be ~3.5cuft (gross).

i like it a lot even though my amp died on me i think... i know its not the sub cause i tried it on my friends amp. but it has better SQ then most people say it does. people usually think its a SPL cause there used in comps and stuff but id buy another in a second if i had the money.

how would the sx compare to the AA atlas in sq and spl, cause im trying to convince my friend into buying one, so im trying to get an idea of what to compare the sx to, my setup is 2 15inch aa atlas's, sealed, and hes debating between a 12 ported or a 15 sealed.

That would be the best choice, either or double 3/4 up. If you use just 3/4 prepare yourself for bracing.

he can't fit a big enough box for a 15 ported, so he was going sealed, or a ported 12.

Tyler, the SX would win over the Atlas in output, but the reverse would be true for SQ.

i would go w/ a ported SX12 before i would do a sealed SX15.

i ran my SX15 in sealed box when i went on vacation this past summer (i needed my back seat)and i'll tell you straight up...SX's dont like sealed boxes.

SX's sound pretty darn good...but XBL^2 subs sound better. (period) on the flipside, SX's are more efficient than XBL^2 subs (louder w/ a given amount of power)

2.5cuft tuned to 32-35hz would be perfect for an SX12.
