Hey Guyz,
well i just bought a 2000 silverado and it has a small space for the woofers. I'm making a custom box, but it only has 6" mounting depth (with spacers)

anyone have this problem or does anyone have some suggestions on some 12" subs?

i was looking into mB Quart woofers (there on sale at crutchfield.)but are MB's good woofers? i used to have some 5.25 and sounded aswome, but i never heard the subs.

any suggestions?
Thanks in Advance

I actually fit a 12" X.X.X behind the passenger seat in my standard cab 03' Ranger, although I definately lost some seat room.. You should decide what route you'd like to go (SPL, SQ) and then start looking at the respective companies and checking mounting depths.

he just bought a 2000 silverado.. he cant have much of a budget lol Alex, youre going to have to measure out how much room you are willing to give up. if you dont ride will the seat pushed all the way back then you are going to have an extra 1,2 possibly 3" to work with for sub mounting depth. Cerwin Vega VMAX, Kick CVR, Infinity Perfects, Adire Shiva.. like jake said, you have to decide if you want a LOUDER system, or one that has excellent SQ. I had a 91' GMC reg cab truck with 2 12" VMAX's + a JBL 600.1 and it sounded damn good. Being that you are in a regular cab the subs are RIGHT behind you, so trust me, if you buy anything that is of a good quality brand it will get plenty loud.

you should be able to get more mounting depth than that. i've seen some prefab boxes on the net that have 7".. you can fit two type Rs under the seat. other than that i'd go with some vmaxs. if your shooting for pure spl you can fit two l7s under there as well.

since you are building it yourself have you considered doing a seat-riser kit and building a false seat? could gain quite a bit more volume doing that and still have a functional seat (just not as comfy)

MB Quart subs are decent. Look into Image Dynamics IDQs. Reasonably shallow (5.25" mounting depth), work well in a small sealed box, excellent sound quality, SPL is pretty good out of them.

those idq's would sound really nice in a single cab truck
