How do you hook a head unit up in a house?

How do you hook a head unit up in a house? Do you have to bie somthing to do it or do you just hook the pos. to the pos. the neg to the neg and ground it off. Ac is whats in a house and dc is whats in a car or am i wrong. And wont it burn up or short out?

why? and you need to convert the power to dc.

You would need a twelve volt DC power supply, that is capable of producing at least the current rating of the fuse for the headunit. Do not just plug it in, since that would at best not do anything, and could very easily completely destroy the headunit.

Why would you want an automotive head unit for home use? Am I missing something here???

As far as the DC power supply goes, you could try radio shack, however, I don't think that they would have one for that amperage. You would most likely need to search the internet. Even then, it won't be cheap.
