Hi, i dont know too much about car audio but i put a brand new older model vega 124 12' in my trunk in september, broke it in and whatnot and today it didnt sound anywhere near as loud as it was before, checked it out and there is a LOUD rattly noise inside the sub itself and when i watch the sub flex it looks like its trying to jump right out of the subbox. I KNOW this isnt good, i was just wondering if there is anyway of fixing this or should i just go buy a new sub asap?

did you check to see if the sub was loose in the box, maybe the screws are loose

Is it like a scratchy sound? If it is then the coil is rubbing on the magnet.

I dont really know what i'm looking for, when i push on the sub itself it doesnt make a sound in places but then in others there is a scraping noise, i took the sub right out of the box and noticed that there is a yellow piece of fabric or something and as it goes up and down it makes that scraping noise, i dont know if thats supposed to stay in one place and got jarred out with bass?

If theres a scraping sound then the only thing it can be is the coil rubbing on the magnet. Its pretty much done with then.

if the coil is scratching like that, would it really make it look like the sub was trying to jump out of the box as Blair Cramb stated?
