Not to mention having to buy those drop in baskets. They give you a complimentary one, but after that, you have to fork out the $$$ for a new one.

Well, the SoloX is designed as an SPL sub. Therefore, that's what people use them for. Whether the build of the sub holds up to the abuse or not, Kicker could most likely care less. They make the money from people's stupidity anyways.
