well ive got a '90 mercury sable wagon and im wanting to up the system. ive got a kenwood hu and 2 mtx 12" subs(750 watt max, 125 rms) and its powered by a 300 watt amp. im wanting some more bass without getting such a big amp that i have to change the alternator. space is not a problem with the wagon but im planning on gettin a chevy s-10 soon so i want a system that i can transfer easily. budget for my system is around $1,200. anybody got some suggestions?

for subs and amps kicker kx600.1 and a 10 or 12inch eclipse ti, build a nice ported box and you should be pretty happy.

if your going to get a 1000wrms amp look into re sx, it'll sound good not as good as the type x, but it will be a lot louder. and 1000 watts on a stock alternator is pushin it, i'd stay around 600-800watts.

ok don't quote me or anything this is all speculation but that amps draws about 100-110a of current and you alternator is probally around 100 mabey 110a so that amp is going to draw all the current, so you will probaly have major light dimming, and probally after mabey a month or so your gonna have to replace your alternator, the only thing i suggest is that you upgrade your big 3 that will help.
