Hey I need some advice, like everyone.

I've been looking to get a pair of subs for chirstmas, and looking around and researching seems that having 2 13w6's with a 1000w a/b plate amp would be a great system for sq and loudness. Now, putting 2 together in the JL recommended ported box(1.875ft), would that be good? Or would the Sealed be better(1.625ft) for my application. I am leaning towards ported since this will be more for rap/rock music and movies.

Also, is the JL recommended box the best for the sub, or would anyone have any other suggestions.

And last but not least, How much louder will will these together get over a single Lethal Injection 12"?

Thanks :-)

Thnaks guys, but err I already have the amp, and it's actually really nice. The Fathoms are awesome, but price is kind of an issue, I don't want to go over about $1k for the woofers.

That's not really my question though...would the 13W6's be good enough sq for a home application, or are some other woofers that you recommend? I need to put them into 1000w @ 4 ohms

Thanks

I would use either a avalanche or a ID max, you cant get 4 ohms with a w7

He's using the W6 though...For better SQ eh? Wharfedale, Paradigm, and Klipsch are some of the really high end home audio providers. They would be what JL/RE to car audio in equivalency, but for home audio.

Sorry guys, but just one of those puts any JL Fathom sub to shame. Just the way it's gotta be I guess...

Mike's choices look nice as well. Mine are a tad out of the $1K range most likely anyways. They're for, well, the well endowed, cash-wise.

Great recommendations guys, But I was more asking about car subs to put in my room, already have a good HT sub, I'm looking for the better output, not for HT but like car audio subs in my room :-D I already have the amp, so I was asking what 2 12-13.5" woofers would be good for nice output and sound quality that are 500w each, 1000w together into 4ohms.

I don't really need any recommendations on pre-built HT subs since I already have the amp and wanna build my own box :-)

In other simple terms, are there better woofers then the 13W6's for what I'm looking for?

Ehh...ok last question...

Having 2 13w6's, is it better to make a dual ported box sharing the same chanber, or making a dual that has seperate ports and chambers?

And are the recommended demensions for boxes on JL's site good sounding?
