8 ohm for 4 ohm

I am trying to use my 8 ohm speakers in my Airstream to work both with a home audio system anda new Pioneer CD/AM-FM player. Am using two four pole switches to control both the positive and neg. leads to switch the source.

The home system works great, but the CD player works ok at low volume, then gets scratchier as you turn up the volume. The tech at Car Toys said the deck is designed to work with 4 ohm speakers.

He said I could fix it by "wiring it in parallel" but he could not tell me how to do this for "liability reasons". What can I do to fix this problem? Thanks

parallel wiring uses one output to drive two speakers. Run two positive and two negative wires from the deck to each speaker (make sure you've observed correct polarity at the speaker end). With two 8 ohm speakers in parallel the effective impedance becomes 4 ohms. I'm not so certain this will take care of all of your problems.
