So I have a 12" x.x.x. in my jeep wrangler in a sealed box behind the rear bucket seat. I've noticed from the very beginning I dont get the same bass as I do when I have my windows down. I remember reading about this awhile back, and forgot what the reason for this is? I even did the penny on the roof thing. With the windows down the pennys bounce everywhere but the windows closed they barely move. Also.. would this change if I go ported? I thinking about going ported and this would help my decision.

THanks Mucho :-)

This is because u are releasing the pressure of the air moving through the car, as the sub moves it moves the air inside the car, when u open the windows it just moves the air out the windows rather than creating a pressurising effect. Ported have pro's and con's which can easily be found by doing a little research on these forums.
