Hey Chauncey how should I tune the amp to my subs.Theres just so much dials and i dont know how to set it.

and im still lost on how to wire the subs to the amp.i think i want to get a 4ohm load.so how do i do that.i have 2 alpine type s dvc 4ohm subs.its also in 1 box but with a divider in the box.thnx

also it has 2 + and 2 - so it would be easier to wire. and since u have a divider wire each sub seperately and connect them to the amp

how about the sub sonic filter,bass eq,low pass,phase,and level knobs.what would be the best way to tune that.

U should set the sub sonic filter between 16-20Hz
Bass Eq 7-10
Whats the freq. resp. of ur sub

i forgot that on the hifonics amps they dont mark them properly, so just try and estimate.

Set the low pass at 80 hz
Phase to 90
and how many volts is ur hu

if i ran the speaker wires separately would that change the ohm load.(to its own + and -)meaning i wont twist the wires together.and let me check up on my head unit

btw the amp gets real hot.if i leave my hand on it for more then 3 seconds it will to hot to keep my hand on it.is that normal.

set the volt to 2.5, and it shouldnt change the load

hey chauncey wana hear something funny.when i was about to change the amp i realized that i hooked it up wrong.i was supposed to bridge the two channels.it was hooked up to both positives on each channel.lol.and i taught i was bumping all this time.i must of had it for two months like that.would that have messed up my subs or my amp if i kept it like that long enough.btw it was getting dark i really couldnt see ;P.

im shocked it worked at all because u need a + and a - for the sub to work. Also just wait till u can see what ur doing u would not want to blow anything.lol

thats ok everyone can laugh im 100% noob lol.nah maybe more like 95%. cause im learning alot from u guys so im very thankful for finding out this site and meeting cool people and helping out noobs like myself. tnx guys and happy thanksgiving.
