I tried searching on the forums and on google to see if I could find any answer/hints to help me figure this out. Just recently whenever I am idle and have the volume at extremely low level (or paused) when I'm listening to a CD I can hear a high pitched whine coming from the head unit. It increases in speed and pitch whenever I accelerate. I know its the headunit/CD player because when I turn the unit off the noise goes away. If I put the volume to zero the noise goes away. Sure - this isn't a problem when I have the music loud enough but its damn annoying. I had this unit installed from Circuit City and have a service agreement I am going to have them look at it. Anyone ever heard of this happening before? Very weird.
