i was thinking of altering my brahmas.
they are currently in the 1cu ft box you suggested to help compensate for the extra 100% of power beyond their mechanical limits. it so happens that this is also the Vas that effects the flattest response (qtc .707):-).
while adire still has my drivers for reconing, i was thinking of having a resistor placed on one of the vc's so that i can adjust the qtc for a more emphasized bass range.
what would be the drawbacks of this, and shouldn't i at bare minimum retain the performance of the current set-up?

Drawbacks are lower efficiency (about 3db) and reduced power handling since the second coil is undriven. It can only increase Qts, so it's really only good if you're wanting to run a low Qts driver in an infinite baffle or large sealed box installation.

ahh, one less hastle to fool with. just thought the option, if practical, might be neat to have.
i'll scratch that one along with going with a ported enclosure. thanks
