do you think i will need to upgrade my alternator if im going to be running 1200 watts to it. it usually runs at about 13.8-14v now. the amp will be a kicker kx1200.1

yea but my hearing already sucks and im not the huge type of bass guy thats why im going to get some SE's instead of an Sx. i just like some nice base with good SQ. i doubt id ever really want too much bigger, so i dont want to upgrade unless i have to.
i also wont have the money for a new alt until summer because i have to save the money i have now for college, like 4 grand or so, and im using my x-mas gifts for my subs/amp. then birthday on componets/amp. then when i get my summer job goin ill get new alt if i need it and then new exhaust and CAI

well 600 watts of true rms will pull like 96 amps from ur alternator, and u still need like 40-50 amps to run normal car stuff (lights, radio, etc)

i am running a RE SX 12inch with a HIFONICS TITAN TX1505D 1500 watts RMS < (purposly did that cause there overrated) and i have no clue about HO Alternators? and do i need a optima yellow top battery? could i get away with just an alternator for right now cause im short on money right now?

my bad thats what the se's are rated at, 1200 will pull like 172 amps, so u will need an HO alternator

so i should get like a 200-210 amp alternator? i dont know the diff numbers for alternators. what else will i need to upgrade other than my alternator?

1200 should pull 120 should it? lol isnt the rule 100A per 1kw? and then u usually want like 30-50 left over for other electronics.

Hi i have a 55amp altenator on a 1500w amp with a 800w sub + 2 400w 6*9s and 2 6" 200w speakers
You only need a 1Farad cap
if you can afford it
