im going to get 2 10'' type r's and stick them in a q logic sealed box. im wondering if i need to get the dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm subs to run with the alpine mrd 1005 amp

4 ohm so u can wire them down to a 1 ohm load or 4 ohm load, i u got the 2 ohm u could wire them to a 2 ohm or 8 ohm load

wut is their RMS, the new ones are 500RMS. the old i think are 350RMS. u need to find a 1000watt RMS amp.look for kicker amps that give 1000RMS in 1 or 2 ohms

yea the rms is 500...and here is the specs for tha amp...500W x 1 RMS (4ohm, 12.0V, 1% THD+N)
700W x 1 RMS (2ohm, 12.0V, 1% THD+N)
700W x 1 RMS (4ohm, 14.4V, 1% THD+N)
1.000W x 1 RMS (2ohm, 14.4V, 1% THD+N)

get the 2 ohm subs since your amp is not 1 ohm stable

Get the 2ohm , and wire them to a 4ohm load, then run series, it will produce 2ohm load

go to this site, u put how many subs u have and their impedance and it shows u different ways to wire it and what the ohm will be
