i have a hifonics BX2005. i would not sugguest getting it, even though it has ran very good the last three months, because it is a very low in SQ for amps. how much do you want to spend on an amp? it should be between 1800-2200 watts rms.

sealed is the best way to go with the X's

what my setup looks like

Im going sealed becausse i really dont have the room for a ported box and all the amps but i was told that the best thing to feed those speakers was about 800rms even though they take 1000rms

Don't buy those subs from anywhere but an authorized Alpine dealer. And the only online one is Crutchfield. Sonicelectronics.com can't get their product from alpine since they're not an authorized vendor, so that raised the question of where DO they get it from. Right off the start, you won't have warranty. Alpine will not honour any warranty that wasn't purchased authorized. And type x's need to be properly broken in or they're well known for blowing. So if sonicelectronics.com or onlinecarstereo.com got these subs from a flea market or a closeout and they were demo models or whatever, they could already be damaged. Trust me, I know from experience. When you're spending the money, go the safe route. Besides, shipping on those big b@stards will just about cancel out your savings anyways.

also the one i have is still under warranty, it was bought on Nov. 4 from an authorized dealer so it still has the Factory warranty,

mine came perfect and never used but im sure they do screw alot of people. guess i was a lucky one.

u really should break them in for awhile. i only had it on 1/4 volume for about 2 weeks.

Chauncy, that's my point. If you buy from an authorized dealer, you have warranty. That's one reason why you should buy from an authorized dealer.

The PG would be more flexable, but like i stated in the other thread u will not be satisfied giving the X's only 600 watts, they need at least 800 to start sound nice
