Hey guys im gonna be putting two Alpine Type-R SWR-1242D into my car. The oly thing I am having a hard time on is finding an amp to power the subs. I have looked into either buying a 2 channel amp and running each sub per channel but I have also seen a possibility of getting a 4 channel amp and bridging it.
Any suggestions for either option would be appreciated and if its under $400 it would be appreciated. I am not looking into anything too expensive just something nice enough to give me nice clean bass.

just save up a little more and get the jl audio 100/1. that way you can series-parallel connect the subs to maintain 4ohms. jl1000/1 is 1000wrms at 1.5-4ohms.

JL is ridiculously priced. Hifonics is what i see in competitions. those are probly best for money. i have installed a JBL amp, and those are legit!

Bid on this amp I have on the Bay. They went for $1200 new, and it is a madman.

Yes it's old school. Yes it is very clean and powerful. And no, they don't look like much. But if you're going for looks that's a whole different ball of wax.

You won't regret owning this amp, once these are gone they'll never be around again; this was a limited production run made for 1 year only, made to be the best amplifiers Soundstream ever made.
