I need a 1 ohm stable amp that puts out 1000 watts of true RMS power at 1 ohm. Looking to spend around 300 bucks for it new on ebay. Money is pretty tight.

is this really one ohm stable? http://cgi.ebay.com/SOUNDSTREAM-PCA1500D-PICASSO-MONO-AMPLIFIER-AMP-1500W_W0QQit emZ5826915112QQcategoryZ18797QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

will this work for 1000 watts?

yes, it's quality. they are actually underrated by 200 watts.
they produce a true 1200+watts @ 12v and up to about 1400w at 14v. i'm getting one for my next install. can't beat a 3 year factory warranty at any rate

I've heard a lotttt of bad stories about elemental designs. I try to not recommend it anymore. I've also heard their amps are actually made by Hifonics...

Thanks Joe. After that, I'll probably go with a Kicker KX1200.1 or an Orion 1200D.

"I've heard a lotttt of bad stories about elemental designs."

interesting topic joe. the only ill stories i've heard have to do with their original flat piston subs. somepeople had problems with them and attempted to have them replaced under warranty, and it took a lifetime. when people made stabbs at the product and the president, the posts were deleted. apparently, policy is no ED bashing (flamin na$is).
all the nine.x owners i know can't say enough good things about them. they produce in excess of their ratings and actually deliver closer to 15-1.6kwatts at max voltage. delivered promptly and only one instance i know of where it needed repair, the 3yr warranty kicked in and was swapped within a few days. in my experience it's just a couple of scorned customers that have started a brush fire and spread it to the point that all of ed's products have been caught in the heat. i can't blame them. i prob would have done the same thing (the power of the forum). fair is fair though.

"I've also heard their amps are actually made by Hifonics..."

that's a myth. that came from the fact that hifonics makes this amp that's black, rectangular, and curved at the edges. i don't know one hifonics that makes its rms.

clearly, at 200-350.00, they are not the best amps out there. but for the price, they are arguably impossible to beat. besides, i'm "a watt's a watt" kinda guy within reason anyway.
have you heard anything ill about the amps?

I have an old school Crossfire CFA1000D for sale. 1000 X 1 rms at 1 ohm. Rated at 12.5 volts (so you can expect 15% more at 14.4 volts). True power amp. 250 plus shipping. email me if you're interested.
