between the two which would be better.

1. 2 500wrms subs on a 1200wrms amp.
2. 2 1000wrms subs on a 1200wrms amp.

it pretty much did fall through. i had to file a complaint with paypal cause the payment already clear to him and i got no reply to my emails from the seller. that is so stupid. all my life i bought 3 things from ebay. this was the third time and this had to happen.
anyways, as it turns out my friends uncle owns a stereo shop and he is going to give me a good deal on type Rs. he wants $200 flat for a pair of type Rs. they are brand new. he is going to let me pick a pair off the shelves. i asked him about the type Xs and he told me $450 for a pair. i was able to hear the type Rs and damn they sound good. he didn't have the type Xs hooked up so i couldn't hear those.

going back to my question. which would be a better setup?

1. 2 500wrms subs on a 1200wrms amp.
2. 2 1000wrms subs on a 1200wrms amp.

That really sux - hope u do get back your $

$200 for a pair of Rs - WOW thats Shweeeeeeeet !

Try to get a demo with your amp for the Xs ,then decide . I think 500wrms x2 is pretty loud for me though . I bought a pair of Rs to work off my Mb Qaurt Raa1000 amp - waiting for it to be posted down to me in about 2/3wks time ...

U also have to consider if u do consider to get (2) 1000wrms amps in the future to power 2 of those Xs that a HO Alt upgrade & better battery will also be needed too ......

I'd still pick the 2 Rs with headroom on the amp than forcing the amp to power 2 subs which obviously could use more power ......

so you don't think i would be over powering those R's. i really want to just stick to having one mono amp. don't want to upgrade the alternator. right now no dimming even at high volume so i am happy for now.

I have my Xs hooked up to a hifonics 2000 watt so im guessing it really puts out 1600-1700ish and they can still use more power than that. So I would stick with the Rs unless u buy a second amp. Its not worth ruining the Xs because from what i have heard its not that hard to blow them...ekk *knocks on wood*

If u want to watt match perfectly - why not check out Diamond Audio 12" D6 600wrms & is reported to be a SQL woofer .... not too expensive either & would run nice with your underrated Kicker 1200 amp .....

chauncey-what do you think?
1. one re sx 15in for my kicker kx1200.1
2. two type Rs with the kicker.

i gotta get something fast cause my car sounds terrible with the audiobahns right now. i thought the sound would improve after getting jl component speakers for front and jl evolution 6x9 in the back with fosgate 800.4 amp but it didn't. the regular music sound is off the hook except for the bass.
