2-channel, 2ohm amp with (2) dual, 4 ohm subs

hey,

if my amp is a 2-channel, 2 ohm stable amp and i wanted 2 subs i would need (2) dual, 4 ohm subs and then wired in parallel because my amp bridged is 800 watts and i want to get 2 comp vrs that are 400 watts rms each.

so i i got (2) dual, 4 ohm subs and wired it in parallel that would be putting 400 watts into each sub right????

If bridged wrms = 800 , that means into 1 channel .

Is it 800wrms @ 2 OR 1 ohms bridged ?

If its 800 @ 2ohms then u need 2ohms DVC subs .
if its 800 @ 1ohm then u need 4ohms DVC subs ......

just so that u can be sure use this guide

if you want to bridge it 800wrms x 1 at 4 ohms, you would have to do a series-parallel connection. like the diagram by rovin. how about parallel connction on each sub to 2ohms each and just connect to your amp without bridging.

so if i had the dual 4 ohm subs that would put a 4 ohm load on my amp what do you mean when you say:

" how about parallel connction on each sub to 2ohms each and just connect to your amp without bridging"

also what do you do with the + and - on the right side of each sub in the diagram...

you said you had two dvc 4ohm subs. i am talking about each sub separately. connect the + to + and - to - on each sub. that will make your sub in to a 2 ohm sub. your amp is 400wrms x2 at 2ohms you said. so after doing that connect one sub to one channel and the other sub to the other channel.
