Can Type R Handle This?

I have read that the Type R is 500 wrms and my amp will be putting out 683 wrms @ 4 ohms. I am looking at the dual 2ohm voice coil configuration for the sub. Is this too much power for the Type R, or will it be a perfect match? My amp is a RF so it's not a cheap name putting out false watts. Thanks guys!

oh that was u yesterday "Mr. Bobby0989 " - lol

u didn't post back what amp model no. u had .

It can work but u need to watch how high u turn your volume level .

A safer match would be a 15" type r which is 750wrms or that Diamond D6 600wrms i told u about or a RE SE 600wrms ....

yeah Rovin, That bobby dude was me there yesterday.......for some reason didn't sign in :S I tried lookin on ebay for these subs but never had no luck whatsoever. I tried typing in RE SE subs and it came up with o results. Sorry bout the amp there........it's a Rockford Fosgate P5002, bridged to take a 4ohm load of 500wrms. That's what rf says it is, but it turns out to be 683wrms @ 4ohms. I will get another amp if I can find a good price on one (max is $300) that will work good with the Type R, but still keeping it with higher end names. Really wanted to stay away from Hifonics and Audiobahn stuff. THanks again Rovin and all the other guys out there!!

So a SE can't work cause its 4ohms dvc which can only = 2 or 8 ohms

U need to get a 2ohms dvc sub which will = 1 or 4ohms load ......or like u said before a SVC 4ohms sub .

does your amp go down to 2ohm? if so then you can look at getting 2 subs or 1 more powerful sub. not many amps only go to 4ohm.

this is a 2 channel, and it's only capable of running a 4 ohm load when bridged.
