Wiring sub to amp

would i be able to wire a RE SX to a JBL GTO 1200.1 and get all the 1000 watts out of it. how would i wire it? thanks.

if you send me the specs to the amp i'll gladly help you out. and the SX is dual 2 ohm?

james the amp isnt 1 ohm stable.
Amplifier Type: Mono

RMS Power: 787W x 1 @ 4 Ohms

THD at 4-Ohm RMS Power: <1 %

RMS Power: 1114W x 1 @ 2 Ohms


since you havent already bought the sub get the SX specially ordered with dual 4 ohm coiuls so you can wire it to 2 ohms which is done like this...

oops that link will only get you to the wizard. select 1 woofer and dual voice coil 4ohm x2

but if i do it in 4 ohm i would only get 787wrms right, or no?

correct. if u get a normal SX and wire it series for a 4 ohm load you will push 787wrms. if you custom order it D4ohm you can wire it parallel and get the 1114wrms.

would i get (2) dual, 4 0hm subs if i have a 2-channel audiobah A8002T amp???

it is 800 watts bridged and my subs are 400 Watts RMS each

yes - get dual 4ohms subs so that on each channel each sub connected in parallel will be 2ohms

so i have one positive wire from the amp and then it splits into 2 positive wires which is put on both of the positive sides of the sub... right?????????/

am i reading this correctly?

u take 2 equal lengths of wire & attach it to each of the sub's terminals THEN join the wires back up - i cannot explain simpler than that.....lol

do you crimp the rubber off of the speaker wire??

do speaker wires come in positive and negetive????
