if my box calls for 2 4 x 11.25 circle ports meaning a port 4" wide and 11.25" long, right?
so my question is how would i go by making one slot type port? is this possible....thanks in advance.

go there and type in your box volume, set it to square, slot port. and type in the tune you want and the height and width of the port you want and it will give you your port length.

all you have to do is find the port area f the round ports and build a slot port w/ the same area...

ex: two 4" pvc ports...pi * R^2
3.14 * 2^2 = 12.56 sq inches (per pipe)
12.56 * 2 = 25.12 sq inches <---thats port area for 2 4" pipes.

all you have to do is make a square port w/ the same area...ex: 5" x 5" = 25 sq inches (.12" wont make much difference)

no...to convert a round port to a square port, you just look at the port area (the opening).

if the port area is the same, the port length will be the same.

ex:
5" x 5" square port 15.25" long will tune a 3.25cu ft box (net) to 35hz.

two 4" pvc ports 15.25" long will tune the same box to almost the exact same frequency. (the only difference will be the displacement of the walls on the 5"x5" port)

Keep in mind that a smaller port will have a higher velocity. If the air moving through the port get above 18m/sec or so, it can become annoying. It depends on where the box is located, if the ports are flush or flared, etc. etc. etc. Just keep it in mind.
