Thursday, October 20, 2005 - 22:56 GMT The w7 period is a sick line of subs. The difference being just size IMO but I am sure other people on here might have others. The 12w7 will work with 800 watts but can easily take more. Most people that I have seen and know and people on here that have the 12w7 usually power it by an 1000/1. The reason the use matching subs and amps is because the w7 has wierd ohm loads. Are planning on using JL amps or another brand, and if so what brands?

Friday, October 21, 2005 - 18:07 GMT The only problem you have when trying to wire up JL subs is there impedance. There rated at 3 ohm, and JL amps are about the only amps that I know that produce the same amount of power from 1.5 to 4 ohms.

Saturday, October 22, 2005 - 03:02 GMT The comparison has been done on this forum b4 A 12" IDmax ($330 online incl s/h) will come very close to a 13w7 in SQ but its been said (by Jonathan i think) that the JL is a bit louder ....
