Hey, I was just wondering how JL can allow the same output for varying impedences, does it have o do with power regulation?

yop.
PPI had the technology first in their 2350DM (80's and 90's). The designer of the RIPS technology, Bruce Mcmillan, is the same guy who designed the arts and 2350D.
The difference is that the PPI had 2 gears, 2 or 4ohms/ch. So when he was hired on to jl in '99, he brought his technology with him. Except he up'd the anti with a total of 3 "gears"-
1.5, 3, and 4ohms.
The common misconception is that the jl patent pertains to the power supplies (RIPS system). the fact is that the patent actually has to do with the output sections, as you can't patent something that's already been done.
