I have a few questions. I have a 2004 Mercedes Benz C320 Coupe and I
wanna know what would be the best sub(s) for me. I went to the local
car electronics store and the guy there, which did my friends MINI,
said that I should get Audiobahn Subs or Boston Acoustic Subs for my
car. I wanted Two 12s and he recommended the ALUM12N subs from
Audiobahn or the G212 subs from Boston Acoustics also he said that the
SL Series Boston Acoustic components would be good. I have Precision
Power Pro Art Amps, the Pro Art 25 and Pro Art 50. I wanted to know
what Subs I should get and why? How about One JL Audio 12 inch W7? I
already purchased a Kenwood DDX-7017 Head Unit on eBay so I am willing
to spend about $1000 on components, subs, and installation. Thanks.

Audiobahn or Boston Acoustics?! And you have PPI amps?! Did the salesman eat bad onions that day or something?

Yeah, that JL w7 would be an awesome choice.

CDT makes nice components. So does JL(their XR series).

But how about Audiobahn Subs with Boston Components, DDX-7017 Head Unit, and PPI Pro Art Series Amps? Would that be a good setup for my car? Would it sound good and loud? Why is Audiobahn said not to be good and should be a last resort on this forum?

Boston components are the only thing I would accept if given a choice between those.

Audiobahn as a whole is made with cheap components and doesn't have very good design...

Why not get the JL w7?

I want to get a w7. What size should I get? How many? What kinda of box? I want to have some trunk space so what should I do?

My opinion (and is many others as well) is that the w7 sounds best alone. I would get the 12" personally...
If you went with the 12" your box would only have to meet these requirements (depending on whether you want it sealed or ported):
Sealed Box Volume 1.375 cu. ft.
Ported Box Volume 1.75 cu. ft.

I prefer any sub to be sealed (it's easier and provides better SQ), though it's up to you for how you want it to sound.

I have no idea what the diff. between sealed and ported is. If I get one 12w7 would it sound better and louder than 2 12s of Audiobahn ALUM series? I wanna put it in a plexiglass box just like this one. Would that be good and loud? http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/594251
