OK well as it says I'm going to install a 2nd alternator if i can this is my plan remove non working ac compressor and fab a bracket to run a stock alternator there. well bracket is done made it on old motor needs put in the car. OK on wiring i have some questions??????? this is on a honda civic

1. Do you have to have the round 4 wire plug in a stock alt for it to make power. it has a 12v+ output terminal also

2. Is it going to matter if one is putting out a different voltage that the other. say 13.1 on one an 14 on the other.

3. Are 2 4awg power wires good enough for a combined total of 1500 watts on good amps

you may want to run the second alternator strictly for the audio system, isolating the two alternators.
combining alternators to share the load is a bit more effort, because you need to put both through the same voltage regulator if you want to balance the output to the electrical system.

you'll want batteries on the second alternator just for the amplifiers, since the batteries supply power when the car is off, and also act as a smoothing filter.
