what are the RMS wattage ratings on your subs, what are the voice coil configurations?

Uh - how do figure that Joe !? .

Amp power to subs should be supplied according to RMS ratings NOT MAX & powered by a MONO channel amp especially since its 3 subs & also too like Muddy ask 1st the ohms & voice coil configurations .

Im thinking since there audiobahns they probably be overrated so like 200-250 rms , 250x3=750. So a 800 watt to 1000 watt amp should be enough

I saw an amp at wal-mart that said 1000 watts max 75 watts rms. I thought it meant 750 watts rms, but it really said 75. I thought that was funny.

No - some of the guys are kidding around .lol

Here's what to do - go unscrew 1 of your subs & write down the model no & note how many speaker terminals are on that 1 sub .

Do that ASAP & get back to us .......

Heeey - Welcome aboard man , glad to see another Trini is on here . There is only 1 other local on this forum i have seen since May when i signed on .

Well i'm glad u notice what they say about the Trini fav product 'Boss' & how they call it crap in the US . Honestly it does work but there r better . The Power Acoustic is not too bad if on a very low budget - my bro has some PA amps in his B13 6yrs now going & still runs fine .

Do u have anything thus far - even a headunit ? Are u bringing down anything from the US or buying locally ? spending 5k TT$ locally won't go 'very far' .
To give u an idea what i'm personally getting -click on my profile , that stuff is costing about US$1130 without s/h to down here + i already own those Pioneer subs listed too (bought locally $970) .

hey rovin, ive decided to let electromania in curepe do my install everythin ample audio: 4x 6.5", 1x10" sub, 1x5channel amp. i resorted to checkin out reviews and ended up here and your directions were very helpful. this is the first time im puttin music like this in a car. maybe next time i travel ill bring equipment with me. id try the PA but your bros stuff is 6 years old may be better than todays stuff. im using my old sony xplod headunit, just 18 months old. but will definitely replace it with somethin from the US. thanks again for the help i do appreciate the objective opinions.

Ample Audio eh - I did visit their website a while back to see what they have but never seen anybody on this forum mention them & i myself don't know of anybody locally who has put it in his car.

Hmmm, curious - Can u post the individual product models & costs of each so i can get an idea ?.

How much did electromania quote u for ?
I'd install a complete system for like tt$100 - 200 giveaway price , i don't own a audio shop but i just like doing it as a hobby ,pretty simple stuff for me to do for eg i build a complete box for 2 subs & carpet it in a day . Like 2 days (by myself) to do a complete install .

Ok i see from this , last yrs list http://pub14.ezboard.com/fcaraudiotalkfrm27.showMessage?topicID=27.topic
that Ample Audio fall into the good section - so ok i guess .

'install cost$ 400' - normal price

Those 6.5 are standard coax speakers not the far more expensive components set - but as its ya 1st gig then ok too , not a bad price for those .

$400 box for 1 10" - now thats a bit much a box .
Box for a pair of 12s goes from $400 to $800 depending on type whether its pvc pipe ported or slot ported . Shold be about $100 less @ least .

$300 on materials - possible cause a lil bit cable /wire/fuses/rcas here & there adds up .

1 10" 200wrms sub for $400 (u said a 100 but site says 200wrms) - hmm Maybe Ample costs more ,not sure but 10" 350wrms Pioneer sub goes for $450-500 .

Bridgeable 5 Channel Amplifier - don't know how true that rms really is or general amp quality so i can't say yes/no . But if the sub says 200wrms & that amps says 230w max then its probably 1/2 of that so maybe that sub will not be getting what could be better .

Generally - its a basic simple set-up , when u r more into car music then u might wanna alot better ....... monthly paycheckS might be required ..lol

hey rovin, first off, all this is goin on credit card. i would prefer 2 subs, a friend recommended the pioneer. of course he suggested a mono for that. i do want loudness, i love bass but i also want quality sound reproduction, i like my air condition so ill be driving with windows up. i wanna hear and feel my music. i kno goin the ample audio way would cost me in the future cuz to add a second sub may mean another amp, leaving the fifth channel on the ample amp unused. if u r interested in installin my system im willin. i want to learn as well. i would do this myself but i dont want to make costly mistakes. do u go to drags at wallerfield?

ppl on this forum might sick of hearing me mention pioneer subs lol but thats whats popular & fairly cheap econo brand in our country (we do get the top brands in case anybody who's reading this !).

Me too - i luv my a/c & its always on .
Yep a mono amp is recommended for subs cause they are more efficient than multi or 2 chan amps . Was wondering y only 1 10" sub . My thoughts about that 5 channel amp was mixed cause i was thinking that 100 wrms might not be enough in case u feeling wild & want to crank up that new dub 'wonder if its me she wants' lol or some chutney something ...

To be honest with u i'm accustomed to using normal coax but with the new system i'm getting for myself - i'm gonna stop being so econo(cheap) & buy some decent components (stuff listed in my profile) & might buy some better subs than my 12s pioneer too .
Hmmmm i could probably sell u that cause i only tested it in the car 1 time & i got it in May ,its brand new & i have 2 rock solid different box configurations for it . That should be enough bass for ya ! 800wrms .
Yea - i could help u do a system & u can get some learning experience off it too .

Have u ever been to Triple R electronics in Gulf City mall ? they have d absolute widest variety of products available in TnT from cheap brands to d very expensive mmats, cadence, rockford, kicker stuff - u should make a trip there 2morrow & get some ideas .

Anytime u r passing through Chaguanas u can stop by as i have a small video games store on the main road upstairs b4 Rep bank & we can ole talk .

Used to go drags long time but like i get too lazy to take too much hot sun again .lol

I open around 9.30am . BTW - my actual name is Rovin ....

Call Triple R in the morn to see if they r open but i think they should open still - that way you can make 1 trip & check both them & me .

Damn coincidence u should mention rims man - cause yesterday i went up south & got me some 15s !!!!!

Searching for wks now & finally went up to MAG WHEEL CENTRE ph no 657-9908 point-a-pierre road Vistabella . Paid 4gs for my 15s , 16s cost 6gs & 17s costs 7gs . i think 17s would best suit your Galant cause its a large ride & wheel-wells r also large .

Know 1 other good place too - Tire Clinic 2000 located in Montrose ,good price/designs too . Was there yesterday as well .

thats 4 things u can do 2morrow -lol .......

Well i guess u just realised my shop is next door to d main rd Rep branch NOT C.city . Glen is always a bit overpriced .
Charcoal colored rims - hmmm i think that fad is over cause all over i've been probably sen 1 or 2 sets maybe . Rims come in silver gray finish ,then hyper silver & finally chrome which is twice as much as reg silver . u can easily paint em over .
Bz doing some work on this pc right now so i'll check in on the forum in general every now & then during 2night ... laterz !

And get 18"s for your Galant. minimum. Ok, hope i helped. BTW, im still waiting for my speaker set up to get here so i can get the info off of it. Ill post that as soon as i get it.

No problemo - when i go by this guy i know we talk car audio an hr or 2 & we bought learn new stuff off each other .
Could imagine u drooling by d ppl window ! lol Upload

Btw -if u r still considering my subs ,i paid $970 for it (used about 1/2 hr testing out) & i'll let u have either my 2 boxes (1 box/sub) OR other option my other new single box that holds both subs = $400 same price they r charging u for that single 10 box .
If u want me 2 hook up ur system - i'll do it @ 1/2 price every1 is normally charging ......laterz

Hey Rawle - was wondering about u .

If u r going straight 2 triple R & back i could take some time off & go with u anyday but NOT on a Saturday - i just luv going there 2 check stuff out. lol
I'd wish if u took both cause 1 sub each won't do either of us any good . We could go up there & see what amp'll work with these subs . Check me out whenever u r ready .....laterz .
