Good entry level sub?

I will be putting together my first system and i want to know of any good entry level subs for about 100 apiece

Any suggestions?

lower series Alpine/Kicker/Eclipse/Cerwin Vega/Orion - all can suit your needs .

Yup, type R's,
Kicker CVR's,
Some of RF's subs... HX2's/HE2's
all around $100 and sound ok.

Can't beleive you all forgot the RE!! 77$. Best entry level sub IMO. I am running 2 as my second system :-)

would 2 12'' RE's sound better than 2 12'' kicker cvr's

IMO yes, and they require less power to do so. I have personally heard both although never heard the CVR's in a car. My RE12's are more accurate than the CVR's. The CVR's do sound pretty good though and have a good deep bass to them, the RE's are more punchy which is what I like. The time of bass that kicks you in the chest.

we all make mistakes.

i have also read that the RE RE's..haha that looks funny, can handle up to 250wRMS with no problems.

yup, wouldn't be suprised. I am gonna give it 225rms of clean kicker power via a 450.2 and see how that sounds.
