Does the fuse rating on the in-line fuse (by my battery) need to be any bigger than the ones on my amp? currently my inline is an 80a and my amp is 40x2. Is this okay?
that's fine. the fuse by the battery can be larger, up to the peak current handling of the wire itself. the purpose of that fuse is to protect the wire, not the amps.
