You think it could be that 2 RE12's with 100rms in a sealed box could meet and exceed 2 Sony Xplod's with 175rms in the same sealed box? That is a total of 150rms difference. 200 total rms vs. 350 total rms. I think the RE's are pretty damn close. Now, grant it the gain on the Alpine amp is fairly high but that will be switched out with a kicker soon. Hopefully the SQ will improve, it is a step up over the Sony's but not a world of difference.
