Did you say midrange or midbass? For midrange, you don't need enclosure.
For midbass, depending on the component and enclosure design, it can improve bass response.

see what the manufacturer recommends.
for most midranges they are made for inf. baffle.. putting them into a sealed enclosure ruins their response.
fiberglassing kickpods usually makes great imaging, but test the speaker locations first, using wood or cardboard templates for positioning to see where you want them before mixing up any resin.

well, I was gonna fiberglass kickpods just for the 6.5 re xxx, and have them down by the door corners under the dash, 1 on each side. Problem is, I have heard/read about 'venting' to decrease the punchiness? Well, I suppose that I can try both sealed and venting them into the door frame.

try it without venting the pods.. see waht you think of it first.. unless you really feel its an issue I'd leave them 'sealed' in the pods
