will speakers have any negative effects if mounted and touching or almost touching metal that it is attracted to?
I am in the process of fiberglass kickpanels, and my RE xxx's are attracted thru the fiberglass and wanting to 'stick' to the doorframes...will this hurt performance any?

you're fine if they aren't touching actual chassis metal.

Shouldn't effect anything even it they were touching the chassis. I'm sure the field is effected if you really studied it, but it's nothing that will effect the subs performance.

btw, these are the 6.5s, not actual subwoofers, so I hope that this doesn't change anything.

when you mentioned glassing pods, I figured that.

the magnets can touch metal, but it's not a good idea.. they'll resonate the sheet metal, and you run a slim chance of grounding out the speaker terminals, so I try to keep a little air between the magnets and metal if possible.
