Golf Mk4 Speakers?

Hi!

Been reading through the site and read that rear speakers are not good, why is this? would the sound be drained out from the box in the back? or are they just useless?

Was thinking of putting Pioneer: TS-A1711 (3way coaxial) in the front and Pioneer: TS-E1776 (2way coaxial) in the rear for my golf mk4, a 3dr.

Worth buying them? I already have a box in the back so this will give me some bass, however was a bit confused of the best layout after reading a few treads on the site, any help would help!

Thanks!

speaker in the rear are known as "rear fill" some people like to hear more than just the subwoofer from the back. it also gives you a little more volume, but is not necessary/needed when trying to setup a soundstage.(when at a concert, does the band play behind you? no. that's why some people feel that rear speakers are unecessary, i personally like them b/c it add more volume, but you can always time-align them.):-)
