Clarion head unit????? please help glass

i can get a clarion DXZ835MP for $200. is that a good hu and is it a good deal. i will either put it in a 97 ford F150 extended cab or a 97 ford expedition.

Clarion makes good units.. but most (all but the top end pro audio models) have 2 volt pre-outs *shrug*

what do 2 volt pre-outs mean? im just gettin into car stereos.

It looks like this model has 4v pre-outs so it's all good.

I agree however; the lower end Clarion units are overpriced...they have a lack of features (low volt pre outs, and no HPF).

But by all means, the DXZ835MP is not a lower end model. Fairly decent price as well.

2 volt is "average" and 4 volt is what you really want if ya have a choice.
the pre-out voltage is the signal voltage sent from the radio to teh amplifiers across the RCA cables interconnecting the two devices.
The higher the signal voltage is, the cleaner and higher the resolution, so the better the end result will sound.
that's all it means.
