ok i am going to be installing 3 jl 10w3v2s in my friends caddy with a directed 750d amp

now the problem im having is wiring up the remote wire.

can i just run a switched wire from the battery or will that be too much power?

and yes he is keeping the stock headunit, but he doesnt want it on all the time.

thanks!

That's awful that he's going to keep the factory headunit when a cheap Pioneer would sound so much better (even mid-range CD players could be found on ebay for less than $100).

I would suggest finding a fuse in the fuse panel that doesn't output power when the car is off (a.k.a. does the same thing as the ignition wire). Just tap into the power from that.
