Is it possible to connect an amp to my 2 prong CB power hookup inside my truck? Ive purchased an amp and would like to install everything within the cab of the truck because our vehicles are leased and I dont want to wire to the battery if it isnt necessary. Any help is greatly appreciated.
it's very necessary to go diretly to the battery. sorry. you're talking about over 20A of current draw from a simple 200 watt amplifier alone.. and that means big power cable to handle the heat generated by that much direct current. It's easy to do/hide even on a lease though. just punch through an existing rubber gromet and go through there.. like the one for HVAC or the steering column. just wire tie the cable every foot or two so its not binding anything
