I just purchased an Alpine eq and it has ai-net. What is this ai-net and does it eliminate the need for rca cables from the head unit to the eq if I use the ai-net cable? My Alpine head unit comes with ai-net also. Probably a dumb question but I didn`t get the manual with the eq and the manual for the head unit doesn`t explain what the ai-net`s function is.

it is to hook up something with rca's to your cd player. for instance an mp3 player, a vcr/dvd player, mini disc player, game system, etc. here is the link i found the info on.......

p.s.

here is a quote via alpine.
"The Ai-NET system links high performance components via a high-speed bus, providing greater sound quality and control convenience, plus easier system upgrading.."

sounds like it's also a way to link alpine stuff together

Yeah, it is used mainly for aux input and cd changer control.
