Silver Member Username: Iufan4lifeulLouisville, Kentucky Post Number: 370 Registered: May-05 | What is the difference besides the price. Will I notice a major difference between the 2? I want it just for the trunk lid of my car (2002 Mitsubishi Lancer ES). So probably going to get 10-20 sq. ft. Will that also make a difference in sound? |

Silver Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 722 Registered: Aug-05 | i chopped up another 2ft2 and put it in other various places in my car, in and around the trunk, it works wonders! i plan on doing my doors soon. |
Silver Member Username: BananakrillVallejo, California Post Number: 167 Registered: Jul-04 | V1 SE is thicker than V1. 70 mills versus 45 mills. It's a tiny bit thicker than dynamat extreme. eDead smells like tar, and the smell lingers for weeks. I don't know about dynamat. And eDead is way cheaper than dynamat. |
Silver Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 728 Registered: Aug-05 | the first one i saw on ebay was $93 shipped for 20sqft of dynamat the first one i saw on ebay was $130 shipped for 120sqft of edead. so he is WAY right about the price, but Dynamat is Dynamat(the king lol) and doesn't stink like edead, or at least it doesn't IMO |
Silver Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 729 Registered: Aug-05 | and the 120sqft was for the edead v.1, not the se |
Silver Member Username: Zero43Kyle, TX USA Post Number: 169 Registered: May-05 | dynamats trunk has a much stronger smell then edead does I had put the trunk kit in my civic before it met with a tragic end... The smell lingered around for months and my being in texas kept it around for months. Id choose edead its much cheaper for the same effect and itll save you alot of money. Id also like to add I had my dynamat professionally applied and it started peeling |
Silver Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 744 Registered: Aug-05 | then they did a crappy job. |
Silver Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 745 Registered: Aug-05 | or you might have bought Dynamat Original, which requires a heat gun to install. Dynamat Extreme does not require a heat gun, just a roller tool. That would be the only other reason i could think as to why it would peel off. |
Silver Member Username: Zero43Kyle, TX USA Post Number: 170 Registered: May-05 | i got the actual trunk kit it only gives about 5 sq ft i think of the extreme it did help though but its not worth the price when edead works just the same and you can get the thicker one and still pay less edead v1 se is basically the same as the extreme just thicker it only requires a roller i never bought the regular edead v1 i didnt see a point it when v1se is only 50 cents more per square foot |
Silver Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 746 Registered: Aug-05 | then we are settled, and he should take both of our suggestions to bed. lol |
Silver Member Username: ChriskleinPost Number: 170 Registered: Aug-05 | Should i get in on it with you again Muddy??? We all know how I feel aboutg Dynamat and Edead, seeing as i use EDEAD and we had that arguement a while back. |
Silver Member Username: Zero43Kyle, TX USA Post Number: 171 Registered: May-05 | Im not saying dynanmat is bad im just saying its not worth the extra money when you could get something that could possibly be better |
Silver Member Username: BananakrillVallejo, California Post Number: 172 Registered: Jul-04 | It all stinks and it all works. So go for price. eDead V1 SE is 1.50/sq foot, plus shipping. You can get 36 square feet of dynamat extreme for $100 over at Fry's. I vote for RattleTrap. 100 mills, 70 sq. feet for $170. http://www.fatmat.com/Rattle%20Trap/Bulk%20Paks/70%20sq%20ft%20bulk%20pak.htm Just kidding, I still like eDead. |
Silver Member Username: Zero43Kyle, TX USA Post Number: 172 Registered: May-05 | they dont all stink only the ones that are butyl or asphalt based smell for long periods of time regular dynamat doesnt have as strong a sent but it doesnt work as well in my opinion |
Silver Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 748 Registered: Aug-05 | i don't remember that arguement Chris. |
