So I'm upgrading the stock speakers in my Mazda 3... in the rear it's got 5x7s and up front, 5x7's and a 1" tweeter in the A-pillar.

So I'm thinking a coaxial in the rear.. probably 5x7 just cause it'll mount in with no modification.

For the front I want to go component, but I don't know if I should go 5x7 or 6.5". The 5x7 will bolt up with no mods.. the 6.5 will require I make a mounting plate of some kind.

So the question is... is it worth the effort? I've heard that 6.5's produce a bit better SQ..

Anyone?

defanitly worth it. You will also have more component systems available.

Yeah, that's true... pretty limited choices in the 5x7 size for components. Thanks for the input... I'll go start shopping for MDF :-)
