if I get a HO alternator do I need anything else? another battery, cap, isolator (i dont even know what that is)

alot of people get a yellow top battery too but you dont really need any thing except you need to upgrade the stock alternator wires

yellow tops are just more reliable they are made to take abuse and last a lot longer than a stock battery...if ya have some extra cash id do it..but i don't think its all that important...id for sure upgrade yur wiring though...

the yellow top is a deep cycle battery. it can be run to below 10 volts without damage to the cells, unlike a normal car battery.
the deep cycle also tends to keep a solid voltage rail longer to help stabilize voltage if the alternator is getting pushed to it's limits.
