HU speaker level signal to amp?

I know... I know... asking this is like wearing a sign that says "Kick Me." I have a shoestring budget, but I got a new Polk C300.2 2-channel AB class amp for a great price. Then I got MB Quart 6x9's from ebay for $60 NIB. but I only have my stock Honda CRV LX head-unit. If I feed my amp with speaker level inputs (that the Polk DOES accept - I checked the manual - up to 8 volts), can I get very good quality? I know that this is a humble system, but Im having a ball doing the install and Im doing mil-spec with good wire and craftsmanship. Suggestions welcome. I like the stock unit as nobody wants to steal it :-) -Paul

A great new headunit with detachable faceplate can be found on ebay for less than $100...but if you'd prefer to keep your stock unit...yes, it will sound better than using a line output converter but not quite as good as a headunit with direct RCA connection.

In other words, the quality you get will be, simply put, fair. Not much else I can say.
