Three Comp VRs, or two higher-quality subs?

I've purchased my Kicker KX1200.1 and now I'm shopping for subs.

Would I be better off going with 3 Kicker Comp VRs, or going with just 2 12s like the DA D612D4? Is it safe to assume I'll get more base using 3 12s? Space isn't much of an issue in my SUV, but I would rather have a box I can remove to haul my pyrotechnic goodies.

Diamond makes great subs and in my opinion the VR's arent even in the same league as the D6's.

They too are a great choice, but the Diamonds are not something that everyone has and are of fantastic quality.
